The Rugby Australia and SANZAAR have announced the Rugby Championship 2020 schedule and location for this season, which will commence on 7 November in Brisbane.

As previously announced, the 12 matches of the six-week event will start on 7th  November- 12th December and will be played in Brisbane, Newcastle, and Sydney in Australia. The two matches time will be announced in due course.

After the opening round at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, the event will be moved to New South Wales (NSW) for the remaining five rounds. The games will play in Sydney at Bankwest Stadium and ANZ Stadium, and McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle.

The teams who come from outside the country, such as New Zealand, South Africa, and Argentina, must follow all well-being rules which are imposed by the Queensland and New South Wales governments. During this time, the teams are kept separate by operating within a bubble, all teams work in a hygienic atmosphere managed by New South Wales police. The health of the team's constantly observed in accordance with NSW Heath's requirements.

Andy Marinos the Chief executive Officer of SANZAAR announced that It took a lot of effort to get to this point, however, we are pleased to confirm the  Rugby Championship 2020 scheduled dates and locations. The Rugby Championship is a big international event that consists of the best rugby talent in the world.

As the Super Rugby season rescheduling and reconfiguration was not ideal, all affiliates are steadfast to bringing rugby back on the field, and the highlight will be the rugby championship in Australia.

I appreciate all our unions and their personnel for their hard work and devotion since the pandemic started. Our trading partners and broadcasters have worked with us and adapted to the rapidly changing environment, which is really great.

SANZAAR is very thankful to Rugby Australia as the host nation, NSW, and Tourism Australia for their liability and contribution with venues and competition coordination, as well as for helping Rugby Australia to run this event.

It is phenomenal to have the option to take matches in three cities such as Newcastle, Sydney, and Brisbane. The six double-headed Saturdays are a first for the competition and will create an energizing blowout of rugby for onlookers at the venue.

Thanks to our devoted broadcasters family, this action will also be brought into the living rooms of rugby fans around the world, giving a rugby festival the same as to what we saw at the Rugby World Cup a year ago.

The Rugby Australia and New Zealand have already announced the first two rounds of the 2020 Bledisloe Cup,  which will be held in Wellington and Auckland on 11 Oct and 18 Oct individually. The All Blacks Vs Wallabies Rugby Championship games will take place on 7 Nov and 12 December will bend over as the last two Bledisloe matches.
